The Crocodiles Be 6/8 III 13302 of the model railway club Horgen and the Ce 6/8 III of SBB Historic, both are still sometimes in operation, are the last ones of the second
generation of the swiss crocodiles. This second, slighty more powerful series of 18 locos has the "Winterthur" powering of the drivers and the noses are bigger
as the ones of the first generation, the Ce 6/6 II. The brown-black paint scheme has changed to a green body with a grey chassis.
In the middle of the fifties the locos got some technical reconstructions which resulted a higher V max of 75 km/h and using in front of fast trains on the Gotthard line.
The loco were renumbered as Be 6/8 III. 1963/64 was the last time of the Crocodile on the Gotthard line. Later the locos were used to pull gravel or freigt trains in the
flat areas of switzerland until the earlx eighties. The model railway club of Horgen supports the 13302 since some years. Sometimes the loco is in use for special historic trains and events.
